PARENTS DAY AT ST JOSEPH

16th March, 2024 was a day full of joy as well as serious reflections at St Joseph.  The parents of all the students arrived around 8 in the morning.

A mass in honor of St. Joseph was offered to commemorate the feast of the patron saint of the school.  Fr Apolinary Mshighwa, parish priest of Mavanja parish was the main celebrant and gave a meaningful homily, highlighting the qualities of St Joseph, which we should follow in our lives.  The later part of the day was followed by the interactions of the parents with the teachers with regard to the progress of their sons in the school.  The parents were given ample opportunity to exchange views as to how the students could make systematic progress in each subject.  A general meeting with the parents was also held in which various issues concerning the school development were discussed.  The parents appreciated the NECTA results of the school and gave gifts to the teachers.  There was a discussion as to how we can make improvement in the academic success, discipline and cleanliness of the students.   The parents responded generously to a request of the headmaster to give a helping hand in completing the prayer hall building.  A sumptuous meal was served at the end. The parents were delighted to spend a day in the school in the company of their sons and the school management and the staff.

                                                SPORTS DAY AT ST JOSEPH

There was excitement in the air at St Joseph on the 12th April, 2024.  A lot of preparations had gone for celebrating the sports day.  The play ground was decorated with colorful flags of various student groups in the school.  The program started by lighting and handing over the torch by the chief guest of the day, Mr. Michael Mbuya, an education officer at Mwanga district.  The students then went on a colorful march and the chief guest received the honor.  There followed various competitions including athletics, football and other entertaining games.  Games were organized also for teachers and the non-teaching staff. Competitions were also held between staff and the students. There was lot of fun and laughter all through the day which brought all the Josephites closer to one another.  Special credit needs to be given to Fr George Crasta,  who worked tirelessly,  behind the scene, to make it a memorable day. The chief guest expressed his appreciation for organizing the day so meticulously.
